Marc Monaco , Head Instructor
Marc has trained in the discipline of Jiu-Jitsu since 2004. He holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Jiu-Jitsu under Randy Pace and a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Royler Gracie Black Belt, Mike Mrkulic. Marc is a member of the American Federation of Jujitsu, as well as a Certified Instructor through the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Vale Tudo Association. Impressively, he has competed and medaled in many local and nationally ranked Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and submission grappling events, most notably the Gracie Worlds, Grapplers Quest, the Best of the Best ProAms, the NAGA Championships, and the Arnolds Grappling Championships. Marc was a Silver medalist for the First Brigade Boxing Team in 1999, a feat he accomplished while enlisted in the U.S. Army for four active years. He is also a fitness trainer certified through the International Sports Sciences Association (I.S.S.A.) and a former competitive amateur bodybuilder in both the Midwest and on the East Coast; he holds various training certifications including Specialist in Martial Arts Conditioning, Specialist in Sports Conditioning, Specialist in Performance Nutrition, and Kicks with Kids Martial Arts for Young Children, among many others. Marc has both organized and taught self-defense and Jiu-Jitsu seminars and workshops to the US National Guard, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Budocamp, and various individuals of different ages and gender. His patience, generosity, attention to detail, and continued drive to master techniques has enabled him to gain success both on and off the mats; his dedication to students has created multiple medalists and champions.
